Senior Deferral

The Department of Revenue (DOR) - Senior Deferral is not listed as a security interest holder on homes. Their interest is shown on the issues tab with a message that blocks ownership and siting until the issue is removed.

DOR Senior Deferral issues should show up on homes on July 1 of each year and are placed on homes by way of a spreadsheet submitted to Building Codes (BCD) by DOR.

DOR Senior Deferral issues are removed when BCD is contacted by DOR asking that the issue be removed. Only BCD has the authority to remove Senior Deferral issues.

BCD is in the process of creating a user group for DOR to use to remove their issue from homes in the LOIS system. Until then, if the senior deferral issue needs to be removed, counties should contact DOR. If the lien is clear, DOR will then contact BCD to remove the issue.
