The statewide code interpretation process and site-specific code interpretation process. Under the statewide code interpretation process a consumer or jurisdiction files a request with the state
to clarify or explain the meaning of a state building code section or article. The state provides a request form, which includes information needed in order to process the request.

Each code program has an advisory group that is consulted before the state issues a statewide code interpretation. Once a statewide code interpretation is issued, it applies throughout the state.
The rules for statewide code interpretations are found in OAR 918-008-0075 to 918-008-0085.
