Q. Which permit would security company use to install a low voltage security system in a one- or two-family dwelling, and which would we use for a commercial site? I am aware that we can use minor labels in most cases. I have asked three different jurisdictions this same question and I received three different answers.

A. A minor label may be used for the residential installation - See OAR 918-309-0220(3)(a).
To install a low voltage security system on a commercial site, a low voltage permit is required.
