Remote Control Lighting
Q. In habitable rooms requiring at least one wall switch-controlled lighting outlet, is it acceptable to have a remote control switch? In this instance there is a wall switch that has to be turned
on in order for the remote to work. If the remote has the light shut off the wall switch will not control the light. Therefore if the remote is lost, the wall switch will not control the lighting
outlet.
A. 210.70 and 210-70 National Electrical Code - A remote control would be allowed as long as there is a manual switch as the main control. (Tri-County Code Forum, May 9, 2002)
