Recessed Panels

Q. Can a panel be recessed in a wall 3" to 6"?

A. New construction would not allow panels to be recessed. In remodel work, recessed panels may be "approved" (definition in Article 100) if they meet the intent of the code and acceptable to the authority having jurisdictions. (Tri-County Code Forum, May 9, 2002
