The division and the Mechanical board propose to update the 2007 Oregon Mechanical Specialty Code (OMSC) with the 2009 International Mechanical Code (IMC) and 2009 International Fuel-Gas Code (IFGC), creating the new 2010 Oregon Mechanical Specialty Code. To help in this effort, the committee will review model code changes, Oregon amendments to the 2007 OMSC and accepted code change proposals submitted by the public. These proposals could include adding an amendment to the proposed base model code, making recommendations to incorporate statewide code interpretations, or alternate method rulings into the updated code.

The division will forward proposed code changes for the 2010 Oregon Mechanical Specialty Code to the board this fall, with an anticipated code adoption date of April 1, 2010.
