Purpose

The purpose of this committee is to assist and provide advice to the division on the proposed construction standards supporting energy conservation in commercial buildings that will be included in the adoptions of both the new Oregon Structural and Mechanical Specialty codes and interim amendments to other appropriate specialty codes. The division will then take the information and input from the committee and develop a proposal to submit to one or more advisory boards for review and adoption around August or September 2009. This committee will advise the division on proposed code changes related to the energy efficiency of commercial buildings. The Oregon Commercial Energy Conservation Advisory Committee is one of three groups that will review commercial construction standards. The Oregon Structural Specialty Code and the Oregon Mechanical Specialty Code and interim amendments to other codes will be adopted for use beginning April 1, 2010.
